All the way from across the pond :) Today we celebrated the 4th of July in morning preschool! This event was totally unplanned, but we managed to pull it off, and though I may be biased, I think they all look adorable in their red, white, and blue!
First we talked about watermelons (our original lesson). I assured Gloria that actually many people eat watermelon as a tradition at holiday picnics :) |
Next we made American flags. Here Lucy Kate is telling me about the stars. |
CLAIRE! In her hip doo-rag. I kept asking the kids: "Are you American?" They would said, "NO! You are American, we are Chinese." Glad we have that cleared up :) |
After every child finished their flag, we got "dressed" in our cool headwear.... |
Emelia and Eliott work very hard on everything that we do. |
Next was the parade! We marched around the backyard! |
And waved our flags....
HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!
