Happy 4th of July!

All the way from across the pond :) Today we celebrated the 4th of July in morning preschool! This event was totally unplanned, but we managed to pull it off, and though I may be biased, I think they all look adorable in their red, white, and blue!

First we talked about watermelons (our original lesson). I assured Gloria that actually many people eat watermelon as a tradition at holiday picnics :)

Next we made American flags. Here Lucy Kate is telling me about the stars.

CLAIRE! In her hip doo-rag. I kept asking the kids: "Are you American?" They would said, "NO! You are American, we are Chinese." Glad we have that cleared up :)

After every child finished their flag, we got "dressed" in our cool headwear....

Emelia and Eliott work very hard on everything that we do.

Next was the parade! We marched around the backyard!

And waved our flags....
HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!
