Jingle Bell

It is no secret that I love this bundle of JOY. My precious JingleBell--that's what I call her in case you didn't already know.

Sweet JingleBell had surgery but has come back and is recovering nicely. She has been wary of people other than her nanny, but cha-ching! On Thursday she actually held her arms out for me to pick her up :) I would have been a stupid fool to turn that down. Thanks to my friend Hannah, she captured this moment!

JingleBell let me hold her the rest of the afternoon and, believe it or not, cried when I left :( She probably knows I will spoil her rotten if I hang around.... haha!

She is the most perfect baby on the planet. Gorgeous lips, full cheeks, big eyes, and a sweet disposition. I love your forever JingleBell!

B is for Bowling

In our newest class, the Pre-K/transition class we have started a new curriculum! We decided to do a letter of the week since the kids are REALLY into the abc's and you can do so much with this theme. They LOVE it and it has worked out better than I anticipated.

Of course, I can't get to ahead of myself, we are only on "B" haha! But they loved both "A" and "B" week so that is a good sign!

This week was "B" week and what better way to learn about the letter "B" than to go bowling!

I tried to be artistic with the pictures by taking them from behind (plus I was keeping kids in check that were waiting for their turn!) ... and I actually really like some of the pictures from this set.

HAPPY BOWLING!

28.

28. TWENTY-EIGHT...twenty-eight, 28.

The number of years I turned on Monday. Wow. I feel so old. I was very blessed on my birthday, and will just let the pictures speak for themselves...

Sunday, a group of us went to eat Pizza for an early b-day celebration :)
The waitress took a big group picture, but it turned out horrible, haha!

On my actual birthday, the morning preschool class gave me a handmade card.
We also had individual chocolate cakes-yum!
I even wore a birthday crown, sorry, no pics of that...

Monday night we had people over for cake and games.
Traditionally, you light this flower candle that opens up when it is lit!
The last picture is of all the shoes--there were a lot of people here.

It was my first birthday ever to be celebrated in China. I can't believe I am 28!

so handsome in blue

A couple of weekends ago when we were out shopping, I spotted a sky blue polo shirt and immediately thought of my Buddy "I". I bought it and couldn't wait to give in him because I knew he would look so cute!!!! And of course, he did--just look for yourself!

oh, i could squeeze these cheeks! "I" just happens to be the most cuddly boy around--he gives the best hugs and always likes to be in someone's lap. I love him so much and can't wait to see him join his forever family! He will be such a blessing to them.

Little Friend...

Whenever I see this precious child I always shout, "Hello, Little Friend!" She waves back to say hello with a big, gorgeous smile. It absolutely lights up my day.

Today I went into the Foster Home and saw her down the hall...she beckoned me with her hand and cried out, "Ayi, I am your little friend!" Melt. My. Heart.

I love you, little friend. You certainly are a precious Lily Flower.

"You're My Favorite"

Okay, so I don't have a favorite child here (hello, they are all hopelessly adorable)...BUT I do hear "You're my favorite" all day long. The nannies say it when they are practicing English-ha! I hear them say to the kids--you are a pretty girl, i love you so much, you're my favorite. So today when I walked into the playroom with all the kids, they came up to me screaming to be picked up. I told them to stop screaming and be very quiet, then I would sit down and they could sit in my lap. They quieted down, so that is exactly what we did. Alice, whom I adore and is a nanny, walked over to me and said, "You're my favorite!" So sweet...she likes that I keep the boys in line :)

So... even though I don't have a "favorite", this boy would be very close to the top of my list. My man Mr. V! The other day we were lacing beads and doing lacing cards for fun, when V thought it would be hilarious to get this wooden "shoe" and have it be laced it to his foot! No, his foot is not really this big, and Yes, he really did pose like that without prompting.

I love you so much, V! You're my favorite!

Wordless Wednesday {No More Room}

This is probably one of my favorite pictures of my time here so far. Thanks to my precious roommate--she was able to capture this moment :)
PS...you are counting 5 kids on the swing plus 2 who couldn't fit!

Shaving Cream Fun :)

What better way to learn how to write your letters than with shaving cream? We had a blast writing "I" on the table in the preschool this morning! Our Pre-K class "plays" with shaving cream often, but for the rest of the kids, this was all new :)

I will say it again: I LOVE THESE KIDS!!!
